Welcome to WISDOM Midwifery
I have been a midwife in Washington, DC for over 30 years, focused on supporting normal, physiologic birth in hospital-based, collaborative practice settings. In May, 2020, after 10 years as the Founder and Director of GW Midwifery, I made a transition. You can read about that here.
I currently practice midwifery with Birthcare and Women’s Health. At BirthCare, we provide home and birth center based prenatal care, labor and delivery, as well as GYN services in our beautiful office and Birth Center on King Street in Alexandria, Virginia.
Increasingly, I work individually with women, providing WISDOM Journeys to support them to give birth to themselves. I also provide counseling and birth trauma services as well as lead rituals and celebrations. I continue to consult about The WISDOM Midwifery Model of Care, and am working with a group of visionary providers to create a WISDOM Midwifery Collaborative to serve the DMV Community.

Birth Trauma Work
Pregnancy, labor, delivery, postpartum, and breastfeeding can trigger deep trauma, either from the events, or by connecting with deeper, past trauma. I am an expert in guiding both clients and providers to work through trauma from their experiences an optimize their wellness in mind, body and spirit.

I have recently joined the midwifery team at Birthcare and Women’s Health and continue to offer my ongoing professional and personal expertise to the midwifery community, clients, colleagues, and organizations. Rituals and Celebrations
I am a sacred, feminine leader who serves my community in a spiritual capacity by creating and holding sacred space for others. I have studied long and have experience in a variety of ritual and healing modalities, counseling, ceremony facilitation, and magic. I officiate marriages, blessingways, naming ceremonies, menstrual initiations, women’s circles, tribal councils, healings, life transitions, and many other events from a place of feminine divinity, empowerment, and inclusion.
